Job Description About the Role The Cold Forging Maintenance
Mechanic is responsible for the setup, repair, troubleshooting, and
preventative maintenance of cold forging machines, and related
equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production
operations. This role involves mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic,
and basic electrical work with a focus on precision, uptime, and
safety. Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair Perform
mechanical repairs on cold forging presses, headers, and related
machinery. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and
pneumatic issues. Replace or rebuild worn components, including
bearings, bushings, shafts, punches, and dies. Maintain lubrication
systems and ensure proper oil levels and cleanliness. Preventive &
Predictive Maintenance Conduct routine inspections to identify
wear, misalignment, or damage. Perform scheduled preventive
maintenance (PM) according to work orders. Document completed work,
findings, and recommendations. Assist in developing and improving
PM procedures. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety procedures,
including lockout/tagout (LOTO). Maintain clean and organized work
areas. Comply with company, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
Continuous Improvement Participate in root cause analysis for
breakdowns. Recommend and implement improvements to reduce downtime
and extend equipment life. Assist engineering teams with
modifications and upgrades. Qualifications High school diploma or
GED; technical or vocational training preferred. 3 years’
experience as an industrial mechanic, preferably in cold forging or
metal forming. Proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic
systems. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings,
schematics, and service manuals. Skilled in the use of precision
measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators). Welding
and fabrication experience a plus. Basic understanding of
industrial electrical systems. Strong problem-solving skills and
attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a
manufacturing environment. Work Environment Exposure to high noise
levels, lubricants, metal shavings, and hot surfaces. Frequent
standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing. Use of PPE including
safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, and hearing
protection.
