Job Description Job Description Level 1 Must support the facility by performing routine and property maintenance tasks. Tasks to be performed in one or more of the following fields: carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc. Perform general cleaning, office moves and conference room arrangements. Level 2 Must troubleshoot facility related issues and complete basic level mechanical repairs (small tools). Must coordinate and support outside contractors and facility engineering with routine maintenance and special project work. Must be willing to train others in areas of specialization. PRINCIPLEDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE Receive work assignments, either verbal, written, or computer generated as directed by supervisor together with drawings, schematics, sketches or other data and information. Setup and operate common machine shop equipment. Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments. Diagnose, repair and maintain all basic electrical and mechanical equipment such as N/C burn machine, hydraulic shears and press brakes, other metal working and cutting machinery, coil winders, ovens, cranes, welders and other equipment. Diagnose and resolve technical problems in the following specialized maintenance areas: electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems. Fabricate miscellaneous weldments using various types of welding equipment. Perform machinery rigging, loading, unloading, machinery moving, modify and install mechanical equipment. Work overhead as required to repair cranes, etc. Keep tools, equipment and work area clean and orderly. Assures safe handling of oils, chemicals and hazardous waste streams and operation of associated equipment. Proficient use of e-mail, Internet searches, data entry. Tools and Machinery: Full range of machine shop equipment and maintenance tools and equipment. Material: Oils, solvents, paints and thinners. Nuts, bolts, screws, manufacturer-supplied parts, sheet, plate, bar, round and other stock. Work under general supervision with little direction from others. Will fabricate and weld with proficiency as required. Work at heights that vary from below ground level to approximately 70 feet and occasionally required to work on various projects on the roof of the building. Working conditions vary from wet, oily and dirty to relatively clean. Occasional outdoor work required in extreme heat and cold. Nature of work dictates that weight range will run the entire spectrum of weights allowable for lifting by hand. In cases when weights are beyond those that are normally lifted, mechanical aids will be provided. The job requires medium to heavy work with possible difficult work positions. Required Education / Experience Technical Diploma or High School Diploma or equivalent with years of service. Position requires 3 - 5 years of related industrial maintenance experience with Technical Diploma in Industrial Maintenance or 5 or more years of related industrial maintenance experience with some formal technical education.
