We are expanding our team and seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Installer/Fabricator for large-scale commercial construction projects. Key Responsibilities and Duties Fabrication and Installation: Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal ductwork, ventilation systems, and related components for heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems System Setup: Install, connect, and adjust air handling units, rooftop units (RTUs), boilers, chillers, and exhaust fans based on blueprints and technical specifications. System Testing: Inspect and test duct systems for air leaks, proper airflow, and balance, using tools such as manometers, anemometers, and smoke tracers. Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance on HVAC units, including clearning, adjusting, and replacing worn or defective components like fans, dampers, and motors. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all installations and repairs adhere to building codes, OSHA guidelines, and safety protocols. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs, service reports, and materials used. Collaboration: Coordinate with other contractors, such as electricians and pipefitters, to ensure efficient system installation and operation. Requirements: Time Management Skills to meet project deadlines or inspection dates Strong communication skills Great at forecasting materials needed daily/weekly Use laser to layout Layout all duct runs based on plans Make/give fabrication orders to shop Experience in schedules and look ahead 3 weekly FSD (fire, smoke, damper) installations Ability to use scissor lifts, ladders, crank lifts, etc Experience with exhaust fan, makeup air, RTV, ventilation units, duct runs Experience with ductwork shafts Up to date with Wisconsin state codes particularly the international mechanical codes Therma duct experience TDC duct joint familiarity Ability to insulate duct inside or with exterior insulation 1 years of commercial HVAC or sheet metal experience preferred. Ability to lift 50 lbs and work safely on ladders or elevated platforms. Knowledge of construction safety standards and mechanical codes.
