Engineer Department: Operations/Engineering Location: Carol Stream,
IL Type: Full-Time Summary This position is responsible for
providing engineering support to operations and for the execution
of projects that achieve technical objectives and deliver tangible
business results by improving safety, quality, and productivity.
Provide engineering support to the operations team in the area of
Continuous Improvement utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools and
current methodologies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following . Other duties may be assigned. Project
Engineering: Identify and implement Capital Expenditure (CapEx)
projects from conceptual design to installation and startup for new
production processes and manufacturing equipment, facility
infrastructure and utility systems Evaluate new process
technologies, and conduct pilot testing / trials / scale-up to
validate feasibility and improvement opportunities Perform
engineering studies to optimize existing production processes and
manufacturing equipment Partner with cross-functional and senior
management teams to develop project scope and justification Manage
project vendors, equipment suppliers, and oversee installation
contractors Lead project update meetings and provide project status
reports tracking scope, schedule, budget Provide Maintenance Team
support by assisting and/or leading Work Order request projects.
Support manufacturing with process evaluation and productivity
improvement projects EHS & Quality: Ensure compliance with
environmental, health and safety policies, procedures, and
regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.) Ensure compliance with food safety
and quality policies, procedures, and regulations (FDA, BRC,
Organic, Kosher, Halal, etc.) Qualifications To perform this job

Experience A bachelor---s degree from an accredited college or
university in engineering required. Relevant internship or 2 years
experienced preferred. Lean and/or Six Sigma certification a plus.
Language Skills Ability to verbally communicate with all levels
throughout the organization. Strong English writing skills.
Mathematical Skills College mathematics required. Strong ability in
Excel is a must. Reasoning Ability Ability to make educated
judgments on correctness, accuracy, and appropriateness of
information. Must be able to organize, and prioritize and make
decisions. Organizational Skills Must be able to create and
maintain systems for keeping up on details on multiple projects;
providing reminders of things coming up, administering tasks
between parties, creating and maintaining files on various
projects. Attention to Detail Must continually demonstrate a very
strong attention to detail, careful execution of tasks, and
regularly check own work before submitting as drafted or completed.
Computer Skills The individual should have strong working knowledge
of Excel, PowerPoint and Word. AutoCAD and Microsoft Project
knowledge preferred. Safety Responsibilities It is the
