Fri Job Description: Lead OSP Engineer Position Summary The Lead
OSP Engineer provides technical leadership and oversight for
Outside Plant (OSP) engineering projects within the
telecommunications industry. This role is responsible for ensuring
designs and construction activities comply with industry standards,
regulatory requirements, and company objectives. The Lead OSP
Engineer manages full projects or major project components while
collaborating with internal teams, clients, and external
stakeholders to deliver high-quality network infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Technical Leadership Serve as
the technical authority for OSP design and construction standards
Review and approve engineering deliverables for compliance with
NEC, NESC, and local codes Oversee route evaluations, permitting
activities, and constructability reviews Project Management Lead
engineering efforts for assigned projects or project segments
Manage schedules, budgets, and quality standards to ensure
successful delivery Coordinate with project managers, permitting
agencies, and field teams to resolve technical issues Stakeholder
Engagement Act as a liaison between engineering teams, clients, and
municipalities Support proposal development, RFP responses, and
planning for new projects Team Leadership Mentor and supervise
engineers, designers, and GIS specialists Drive process
improvements and support automation initiatives Promote continuous
learning and technical excellence within the team Qualifications
Education High school diploma or GED required Bachelor’s degree in
Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a
related field preferred Experience Minimum of 7 years of OSP
engineering experience At least 3 years in a leadership or
supervisory role Skills and Knowledge Strong knowledge of fiber
optic and copper network design Proficiency in GIS and CAD tools
(ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD, and other spatial platforms) Excellent
project management and communication skills Knowledge of permitting
processes and regulatory compliance Performance Expectations
Deliver high-quality engineering solutions on time and within
budget Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory
standards Collaborate effectively across teams to support
successful project execution Contribute to business growth through
engineering expertise and leadership Benefits Information: PTO in
