Job Description Job Description Pay: $26-30/hr Mon- Fri 1st shift Position Summary The OSP Engineer designs and supports the construction of telecommunications networks, including fiber and copper infrastructure. This role ensures designs meet industry standards, regulations, and client requirements while coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and permitting agencies to deliver efficient, high-quality projects. Key Responsibilities Design & Planning: Create OSP designs and construction drawings for aerial and underground networks using AutoCAD and GIS. Perform route planning and field analysis. Project Coordination: Support project planning, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate with utilities, permitting agencies, and survey teams. Quality Control: Review designs to ensure compliance with safety codes, standards, and client specifications. Collaboration: Work with construction teams, vendors, and municipalities to resolve design issues and support project execution. Mentorship: Assist and guide junior engineers and designers. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience: 3–5 years of OSP engineering or telecom design experience. Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS tools Knowledge of fiber and copper network design Understanding of permitting and regulatory requirements Strong communication and organizational skills Performance Expectations Deliver accurate designs on time and within budget Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards Promote teamwork and continuous improvement Benefits Information: PTO in accordance with the IL Day and Temporary Labor Service Act.
