they serve. POSITION TITLE: The Manufacturing Engineer is
responsible for all aspects of process improvement, project
implementation and overall technical knowledge and troubleshooting.
The Manufacturing Engineer ensures the day-to-day administration of
the manufacturing process flow and process efficiency is handled
efficiently and effectively by taking timely action to resolve
requests, manage routine systems configuration and maintenance,
respond to business questions, and perform root cause analysis of
any issues. ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Required
Skills/Abilities: Be a leader of change, develop and implement
Continuous Improvement projects using the Lean Manufacturing
methodology. Ensure lean principles and process controls are being
continually utilized. Engage core teams in order to lead specific
improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain manufacturing methods
and create process work instructions, standard work documentation
and quality controls. Analyze existing industrial engineering
techniques and develop recommendations for changes to working
methods that will minimize costs, and waste, increase yields and
productivity, and improve the quality and consistency of final
products. Design and build / procure necessary tooling and
finishing within budgets. Support equipment upgrades from purchase
through installation. Conduct cost / benefit analysis for changes
to processes and/or equipment. Drive Process Improvement / Cycle
Reduction initiatives and drive productivity improvements via
process changes or improvements. Conducts studies to determine the
most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and recommends
methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and
personnel. Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical
calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff
requirements, and production standards. Ensure processes contribute
to a safe work environment. Review production schedules,
engineering specifications, orders, obtain knowledge of
manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities. Identify and
reduce product quality issues caused by process variation. Support
the quality function through integration of QC documentation and
Manufacturing methods Instructions, support Corrective Action
Request system. Lead high impact process and quality improvement
projects yielding significant reduction in defects and increased
productivity in the production floor. Participate in weekly
cross-functional production and quality sessions and track / drive
root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
Facilitate goal development, planning, and monitoring progress
performance. Optimization of manufacturing processes according to
standardized framework and procedures. Design layout of equipment,
materials, and workspace for maximum efficiency. Lead New
Technology Initiatives (NTI) and share best practices with other
locations. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. A minimum of five (5) years
of experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial
Engineering or Quality Engineering. Experience in Manufacturing
process improvement. Experience in root cause analysis and
problem-solving techniques. Project management skills and
experience. Knowledge and experience of manufacturing/operational
process(es) and their continuous improvement through application of
Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and/or other proven methodologies.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and
working on a computer. Must be able to access and navigate the
production facility. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
