Job Description:
Overview:Directs all functions of the Pharmacy Operations
including acute care and retail pharmacy services. In this role
he/she oversees the financial, operation and quality components of
the pharmacy operations throughout the Mercyhealth system. Performs
other duties as assigned.Responsibilities:Essential Duties and
ResponsibilitiesLeads the system pharmacy leadership team to help
identify and deploy organization and department strategic
plans.Assists in the planning for clinical programs, manages the
implementation of programs, and evaluates program
effectiveness.Establishes effective working relationships and
maintains open lines of communication with the medical staff,
nursing services and ancillary services as needed. .Maintains
collaborative and cooperative communication and working
relationships with all hospital staff to ensure effective
operations.Ensures progress toward department objectives by
establishing reporting systems, department performance standards
and methods to measure staff performanceEnsures that utilization of
all resources is optimal. Recommends and institutes measures that
result in greater cost effectiveness and efficiency in operations
while ensuring high quality patient care. Collaborates with supply
management to maintain contractual arrangements.Ensures that
inpatient pharmacy services are in compliance with Joint Commission
on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Ensures compliance
with all other applicable state and federal regulations. Enforces
all procedures, policies, and standards to ensure consistent
application and effective operations.Establishes and maintains
quality assurance standards. Monitors and evaluates processes and
takes action to correct problems or deficiencies that are
identified. Develops and maintains medical QA processes to
encourage physician participation.Ensures hospital and retail
pharmacy operations areas meet productivity, budgetary, partner
engagement and patient outcome targets and standards by continually
monitoring and adjusting action plans as needPrepares annual
budgets and is responsible for monitoring the financial performance
of inpatient and retail pharmacy services. Prepares and maintains
records, reports, and all documents, required for the
administration of the department.Oversees human resource
responsivities for staff which includes assisting in interviewing
and selection of new partners, promotions, corrective actions,
termination and overall partner morale.Develops and recommends
operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within
approved budget objectives.Culture of Excellence Behavior

ExperienceGraduate a Pharmacy program.Five years
supervisory/management experience preferredCertification and
LicensureLicensed in Wisconsin/Illinois License in PharmacySpecial
