Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities and Key Deliverables
- Create and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans,
including evacuation procedures, communication protocols, and
resource allocation.
- Conduct regular training sessions and emergency drills to
ensure all employees are prepared to respond effectively in case of
an emergency.
- Perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards and
vulnerabilities within the facility and develop strategies to
mitigate these risks.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and
other emergency services to ensure coordinated response
efforts.
- Ensure all emergency response plans and procedures comply with
relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Lead the response to actual emergencies, coordinating efforts
to minimize impact and ensure the safety of personnel and
property.
- Document and report all incidents, including response actions
taken and lessons learned, to improve future preparedness.Required
Skills and Competencies
- Expertise in developing and maintaining emergency response
plans.
- Knowledge of incident command systems and protocols.
- Familiarity with relevant safety and environmental
regulations.
- Efficient allocation and management of resources during
emergencies.
- Commitment to learning from past incidents and improving
response strategies.
- Understanding of industrial processes, hazardous materials, and
safety regulations.
- Training and Development: Experience in designing and
conducting training programs and emergency drills.
- Proficiency in identifying potential risks and implementing
mitigation strategies.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.Minimum
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Occupational Safety,
Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in health and safety, with at least 3
years in emergency response management within an industrial
setting.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in crisis
situations.
- Relevant certifications such as FEMA courses, Certified
Emergency Manager (CEM), or similar credentials are preferred.
- Tools, equipment, machinery used: Hydroblasting, Vacuum Truck,
and Tank cleaning equipment.
- Working conditions: Will be exposed to all weather conditions.
Work on various structures and surfaces both at ground and elevated
levels up to and possibly exceeding 150 ft. Work in confined
spaces. Work a 12-hour shift with 30-minute lunch breaks. If
requested, work overtime, and respond to emergency callouts
whenever they occur. Work days, nights, and weekends. Travel to
customer and other Miller sites as needed.
- Physical effort required: Handling tools, materials, and
equipment weighing up to 150 lbs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, crawl, bend, squat, and kneel.
Must be capable of climbing towers/vessels/tanks.
