The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $78870 - $103191. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.Join Our Team as an Occupational Health Nurse!Are you passionate about Health, Safety and Nursing? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Health and Safety function. As an Occupational Health Nurse, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care and health education to team members at S&C. This role focuses on promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of employees through preventive healthcare, first aid, and management of occupational injuries and illnesses. The Occupational Health Nurse also collaborates with other healthcare professionals and management to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.Key Responsibilities
    • Provide initial assessment and treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses, ensuring appropriate care and follow-up. Maintain accurate records of incidents and care provided.
    • Perform pre-employment, return-to-work, and periodic health assessments for employees, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory health standards.
    • Support and administer health programs that promote employee wellness, including vaccination clinics, health screenings, and ergonomic assessments.
    • Support Paramedics with first aid and emergency care to employees as needed, including managing and maintaining emergency medical equipment and supplies.
    • Coordinate cases of occupational injuries and illnesses, including coordinating with external healthcare providers, overseeing worker's compensation claims, and facilitating return-to-work programs.
    • Educate employees on health-related topics, such as workplace safety, ergonomics, and lifestyle changes, through presentations, written materials, and individual consultations.
    • Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of employee health records, in compliance with HIPAA, other federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with occupational health regulations, such as OSHA, and assist in the implementation of workplace health policies.
    • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.What You'll Need To SucceedJob Requirements (To select this job at a minimum you must have the following):
      • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
      • 2 to 4+ years of experience in occupational health or a related nursing field.
      • Proficiency in clinical nursing skills, including wound care, first aid, and emergency response.
      • Good understanding of occupational health principles, worker's compensation, and relevant regulations such as OSHA.
      • Great analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to assess cases effectively.
      • Great interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and other occupational health professionals.This includes the ability to provide a positive and compassionate attitude toward team members receiving treatment.
      • Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with team members.
      • Understanding of and compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
      • Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization and maintain confidentiality.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and other healthcare-related software, such as Velocity, EHS, or Gensuite.Preferred
        • K-tape certified/Instructor
        • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN or COHN-S)
        • Certification in Case Management (CCM)
        • Basic Life Support (BLS)
        • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
        • Experience in occupational health in a manufacturing, industrial, or related industryMajor Physical Demands
          • Standing: Occasional standing for work
          • Lifting: Occasional lifting of supplies weighing from 5 to 20 pounds and some operation of hand carts when preparing for course delivery
          • Walking: Occasional walking throughout the facility
          • Carrying: Occasional carrying of light objects
          • Pushing: Infrequent pushing of objects
          • Observation/Eyesight: Frequently required to observe details at close range including depth perception, peripheral vision and the ability to differentiate between colors
