Position Summary:

The Senior Category Specialist reports directly to the Indirect Category Manager and is responsible for supporting the Americas Procurement function for a multi-plant network. This position will manage the costs and performance of Trivium’s logistics network, ensuring that warehousing capabilities and freight capacity are secured in a way that optimizes the P&L and is strategically organized. The position will also be assigned various tactical projects to help the team meet certain objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain cost controls on all company Logistics activities, specifically related to freight and warehousing
• Supervise Logistics sourcing events and contract reviews to achieve optimal pricing and terms
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to gather accurate and relevant data to support company initiatives and further develop monthly reporting to leadership
• Create processes and tools to foster communication between Logistics, Operations, and Sales departments
• Ensure personnel adhere to category strategies and routing guidelines
• Review freight and warehousing invoices to ensure pricing compliance

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Business preferred or related experience equivalent
• Minimum of three to five years in freight and warehouse management and cost control
• 3PL management and knowledge of domestic freight modes, contracts, and transportation processes
• Proficient in both SAP and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Experience with warehouse management, sourcing, and contracts
• Knowledge of PCS/UltraShip TMS software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to think critically and challenge the status quo when necessary
• Own the procurement process and ensure effective collaboration between stakeholders
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Understanding of policies and procedures which impact the procurement function

Work Environment:

This position will primarily work in an office environment and/or remote work from home, where sitting for prolong periods of time and using a computer, telephone and other office electronics are critical.
