Do you want to work towards social justice? Do you want to make an impact in the lives of immigrants? This position is a combination of both high detail orientation along with the need for strong interpersonal communication and coordination skills. This position will input data and manage reporting information for the New Americans Initiative Citizenship grant as well as assist the Citizenship Coordinator in meeting grant objectives. This position will interact with immigrants in the naturalization process as well as provide volunteer coordination and volunteer data tracking. Spanish/English fluency is required for this position.


Citizenship Assistance

  • Assist Citizenship Coordinator with client follow up after citizenship clinics
  • Assistance in review and prepping citizenship applications for case review
  • Mail citizenship applications to USCIS
  • Citizenship client data entry into LawLogix
  • Pull Law Logix monthly reports and clean up data
  • Input monthly Salesforce data entry for citizenship grant requirement
  • Assist with citizenship hotline and document drop-off
  • Assist Citizenship Coordinator with citizenship clinic preparation and set-up
  • Attend Citizenship clinics and assist with either fee waivers or other tasks as assigned
  • Assisting clients with change of address and E-inquiries

    Volunteer Coordination

    • In coordination with the volunteer services team, recruit volunteers for the Immigration Legal Services department
    • Assign volunteer roles for clinics
    • Day of clinic coordination and client and volunteer traffic flow
    • Coordinate and assist with ordering food for each clinic
    • Off-site clinic set up and tear down logistics
    • Enter volunteer hours worked and volunteer information into Dynamics database
    • Participate in Volunteer Coordinator meetings as needed
    • Meet with Volunteer Services Director regularly

      Administrative Assistance

      • Cover front desk reception as needed, answering phones and attending to clients in the office
      • Post case review make copies and prepare mailing for citizenship and DACA cases
      • Scanning & Uploading files to LawLogix database
      • Assist ILS Administrative Assistant with scheduling appointments as needed
      • Document translation as needed


        • Excellent problem-solving abilities and flexibility to work in a frequently changing environment
        • Spanish/English fluency required
        • Flexibility to keep updated on changes to programs
        • Strengths in leadership and coordination strongly preferred
        • Experience and skills using database management software
        • Experience with Adobe Acrobat; Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)

            • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information

              WORK ENVIRONMENT:

              • General office setting
              • Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in skype meetings may be required
              • Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending
              • Physical, emotional and intellectual demands
              • Equipment used: Employee computer (desktop or laptop), printer, and copier
