Description:Summary of Job Description:-The role is responsible for Forecast Planning, Source Selection, Supplier Relationship, Inventory and Materials Management, and PO placement directly associated with the company's needs for direct materials, services, fixed assets, and tooling. These products and services are to be secured at cost quality and at delivery competitive levels consistent with company policy and performance standards. The position is further responsible for the timely planning and scheduling of receipt and inventory control of the products and services. Weekly and monthly KPI reporting required to measure performance. Essential Duties and Core Responsibilities:-Perform demand planning duties including estimating future product demand, analyzing inventory flow, and developing forecast models.-Utilize analytical, marketing, and sales data (SIOP) of company to effectively estimate future product demands. Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management.-Conduct monthly forecast maintenance and address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner. Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.-Initiate purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and/or special tools; arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as required; maintains close coordination with Operations to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities.-Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems. -Manages consistent and adequate supply of raw materials necessary for production; Maintains optimum inventory FG levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements-Confer with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics, inventory control and management; set EOQ (scale pricing) and delivery terms with guidance from Director of Supply Chain.-Analyze supplier capabilities, part characteristics, cost targets, and floor needs to determine best method for planning; Discrete, eKanban, Blanket, Expense, Consignment, or Vendor Managed. -Review price increases. Use sound judgement to negotiate and/or mitigate and communicate with Commodity Management for approval.-Conduct supplier visits to strengthen Supplier relationships and facilitate resolution of production, design, quality and/or delivery problems.-Studies market prices and trends, engineering developments, and manufacturing method improvements applicable to assigned responsibilities; continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.-Coordinates as appropriate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers. -Work closely with Commodity Management team to advance enterprise-wide sourcing programs as appropriate.-Follow PO approval hierarchies ensuring management is aware of financial liability. -System updates to ensure information accuracy (price, ordering quantities, ROHS, lead-time, etc)-Preparing RFQ documentation (drawings, specifications) when required.-Participate in PCR/PCN process-Assist in new supplier development and manages existing supplier maintenance and continuous improvement activities, including cost reduction opportunities,-Participate in supplier development programs for critical suppliers and manage supplier metrics while working with category management to achieve a supply base compliant with the overall Category Strategy. Maintains performance reports, and identifies supply chain risks, establishing gap plans. -Conduct new and existing vendor audits, assists in defective part analysis, and ensures supplier development plans are executed.-Establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory at the suppliers.MUST:-Degree within Engineering or Business or Supply Chain (MBA preferred)Strong KPI background what did you specifically do to solve the problem -4+ years of professional experience working within a manufacturing based setting-Experience working within procurement for national and international-Experience with ERP systems; specially Operations and Supply Chain modules---- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with specific emphasis on data retrieval, reporting, and analysis, vlookup, pivots--- Share Point -Ability to work cross-functionally with different departments and personnel (internal and external)PLUS:-CPM or APIC's Certification-PMP Certification-JD Edwards experience-MAS SystemSkills:ERP, Microsoft excel, data analysis, Supply chain, Materials Buyer, Buyer, Materials Planning, Inventory Planning, Forecast Planning, Source Selection, Supplier, Supplier Relationship, Inventory Management, Cost Reduction, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, KPI, mrpTop Skills Details:ERP,Microsoft excel,data analysis,Supply chainAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Sr. Buyer with potential to grow into Materials Manager or Procurement Manager very soon.
