Job DescriptionPosition: Apprentice Technician FLSA Exemption: Non-ExemptLocation: Carol Stream, ILStatus: Full-timeSummary of Position: Reporting to the Production Manager and supported by the Team Lead, the entry level Apprentice Technician is a trainee role beginning in the foundational areas of shipping/receiving, preparing, cleaning, and masking tools/molds, and pattern development. Successful entry level Apprentices may expand their skillsets over time to grow further into the texturing department. This may include learning areas such as printing, etching, and/or tool repair and tool finishing.Essential Duties:Shipping and receiving; check in tools properly and swiftly, as well as the ability to properly prep the job once completed to be shipped back to the customer/tool shopShipping and receiving; assist in areas of package and prep, load, and unload trucks as neededComplete customers paperwork, shipping and receiving paperwork - FedEx, UPS, shippers etc.Masking/blasting jobs properly and efficiently per the Production Managers instructionsDiscernment of jobs on the floor that need to be sandblasted based on job requirements and status, glass bead and oxide blastingTool inspection, scribes, handwork, missing components etc.Determines proper working order (Line up) and cleanliness of tools.SAP data entry and documentationOpen order and complete QC documentationLearning and applying the proper gloss level application and being able to read the gloss meters; must be proficient in all gloss codesAdditional Requirements: Must be able to work a standard 40-hour work week with occasional-moderate overtime including weekends as a possibility, especially when busy.Sitting and/or standing for an extended period of time as well as some walking within the facility.Must be able to lift at least 50 poundsMust be proactive and show initiative in taking on and completing projects with a deadline.Strong interpersonal and motivational skillsStrong and confident on the go decision making skillsStrong attention to detail with a focus on quality at all timesGood communication and team work skillsBeing able to work in a fast-paced environment and work in a team environmentAbility to use tool room equipment such as cranes, Hi-lows, bead roomBe able to work independently from verbal and/or written instructions from the Production ManagerResponsible to follow all OSHA and safety rules and regulations.Be able to keep a clean and organized work environment while working on tools.Communicate in an effective and timely manner with any tooling issues to the Production ManagerEducational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Valid Drivers License BenefitsHealth Benefits (medical, dental, vision)Health SavingsFlexible Savings 401(k) Retirement Savings Plans with matching optionsLife insurance optionsEmployee Assistance Programs and more!PerksOvertime after 40 hoursWeekly payDiscounts for travel and entertainmentMoviesTheme ParksRestaurants ConcertsActivitiesand more!Powered by JazzHRXpX2pW5Fk0
