Summary of Position:
The Sales Engineer works with assigned markets and customers to promote a variety of services across Standex Engraving. He/she is responsible to manage the initial RFQ, part mark-ups, texture line-ups, customer coordination/consultation, and forecasting the EAD (estimated arrival dates) for upcoming jobs.

Essential Duties:

• Pursues new business prospects and develops strong consultative relationship with existing customers
• Respond to customer RFQ's
• Actively manage ALL quote opportunities in SAP
• Sell the combined offerings of Standex Engraving (Chemical, Laser, Tool Finishing, etc.)
• Provide customers with technical support and solutions (tooling, molded parts, etc---)
• Manage the details of upcoming jobs to ensure that tools are ready to move through the texturing process when they arrive in our facility
• Accurate and timely dissemination of information
• Other activities as required in support of department, as needed
  Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Attention to detail
  • Professional presence and demeanor
  • Knowledge of automotive industry, tool/mold shops, texturing (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage several priorities with tool shops, Tier 1 suppliers, molders, OEM's
  • Problem solving
  • Ability to influence through effective communication (presentations, written and verbal communications)
  • Proficient in MS Office products, internet navigation
    
    Educational Requirements/Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree with major in business, sales/marketing or related field required with 3+ years in a sales engineer role. High school or Associates degree may be considered (in lieu of Bachelors) with equivalent experience.
      
      Other
      • Some local travel (approximately 10-20%)
      • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
